Memorial Bench Program – First Order Coming Soon!

Last Updated 9/25/2025

The Monticello Parks and Recreation Department is excited to officially roll out our Memorial Bench Program!  This program gives families, friends, and organizations a meaningful way to honor a loved one while also adding beauty and comfort to our community parks and green spaces.

Each bench includes a personalized plaque and will be installed in a city park location chosen together with our staff.  The benches are maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department for at least 10 years, making them a lasting tribute to those you wish to remember.

While the program has been in place for several months, we’ve been waiting to place our first order until we had at least five benches lined up to help save on shipping.  We’re happy to share that our first order will be placed on October 31!

If you’d like to be part of this first round of benches, now is the perfect time to apply.  Applications are available through the Parks and Recreation Department, and we’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.
